just bought my 1990 f150 lariat a couple months ago. did the water pump, and both fuel pumps. now the main thing that bugs me, is that it sits about 2 inches lower in the front than the back. ive looked at the leveling springs and the 2 inch spacers. i just woundered if the spacers would weaken the springs and id end up with the same heigth in a couple of years. i kinda of like the spacers because i would end up with the same ride. any feedback or pros and cons on either.
The spacers will work as will the longer springs. You existing springs probably won't drop anymore. definately not in a couple years. Technically I would think that the new springs would be best since the spacers might wear out or crack after a while. You can get new extended springs that have 1.5" lift on eBay for $100 or buy spacers for $90. My opinion would be to go with the new springs. It won't change your ride either.
im going by what ive seen posted about putting the front 1 & 1/2 leveling springs. from what ive read new camber/castor bushings need to be installed. that migt be something i can do myself. the shop said they needed to put y truck on the rack to ee which bushings i would need. now if anyone here knows which bushings i would need with a 1 & 1/2 lift in the front, that would be a big help.
I'm going with the springs of a maufaturer yet to be determined. I would have used the spacers, only I am trying to solve a saggy spring issue. Driverside coil and leafs were (are) sagged 1". Nuts. Glad I did the rears because the eye bolts were corroded to half their origional diameter! Scary isn't it!
