Both tests performed by Motor Trend:

2011 Mustang GT V-8
0-60 = 4.3 seconds
1/4 mile = 12.8 sec @ 110.8 mph

2017 Super Duty, duelly, 6.7L, F350, 4x4
0-60 = 7.6 seconds
1/4 mile = 15.8 sec @ 87.7 mph

2017 Super Duty, SRW, 6.7L, F250, 4x4
0-60 = 6.9 seconds
1/4 mile = 15.3 sec @ 87.7 mph

Note, as the the mustangs get newer, they get quicker...so I went with a 5 year old model. I'm not calling anyone a liar, but I think the numbers tell a story that, at a minimum, the mustang had to be an unmaintained hoopty.

He clearly stated that he didn't know which model or anything about the Mustang... it could have been a 6'r auto... LOL

Folks laugh about the auto, but it's consistently as fast, or sometimes faster, than your best drivers can do with a manual transmission.

The '11-12s with the manual transmission had an issue with body flex and the transmission not wanting to hit second gear. Mine used to do that...was more than a little embarrassing. It's possible the driver missed a shift.

That's true Tom. When I had my CTS-V, I had to order to get a manual. They just weren't out there. BUT, in every test, the manual was slower than the auto except for top speed which was governed higher on the manual.

Don's '15 dually might have been a hair quicker than his '17 without any torque restrictions and more traction and probably 3.73's compared to 3.55's.

But there was still no way it was going to beat a V8 Mustang. Even a 1999 Mustang GT would rip off a 5.5 second 0-60 time according to Car & Driver.

I feel the 2017 is stronger than my 2016 trucks...not night and day, but noticeable. On my dually, as soon as it shifts into 2nd gear and you mat it, it pulls quite hard and snaps off shifts really well.

But the best part of these trucks, in my opinion, is how effortless they tow and go up hills.

I went snowmobiling this past weekend with some buddies. We took two trucks and two trailers. The other truck was a 2017 GMC 2500, 6.0L gas V8. Very similar trailers. Up the interstate, his would downshift to 4th gear on the steeper grades...mine would remain in 6th gear with the only indication being the boost gauge rising. That's the best part of diesel, in my opinion.

yes .I agree . you just cant compare a gasser to a oil burner pulling a trailer up grade .. fair comparison would be gas used ,, that 6.0 is a hog .. the oil burner should shine all day . against the gasser ..

My first diesel pickup was a 2010 cummins 6.7. I loved it. I traded it for a 2015 Denali. After driving the Denali as a daily I thought It was as good of a truck you'll ever drive. Couple months ago test drove 2017 powerstroke and I new thats the truck i need lol. I got a 2017 platinum now. Comparing 2015 denali vs 2017 platinum in like night and day. Platinum is the better truck in just about everything. From more power to exterior/interior feel and looks doesn't get any better. I never had any problem with my Denali but the guy I sold it to had several problems. First time was the DEF system and second time was turbo sensor.

Congrats on the new Platinum...the current gen Super Duty certainly does offer quite a bit more than is even available on the Denali...but in fairness, the 2019 / 2020 generation will offer basically everything Ford has, barring the panoramic sunroof. Your 2015 had the Duramax LML, which I think is one of the best diesel engines ever produced.
