Me personally, I like the traditional suspension design that ford has, so far, stuck with. The solid front and rear axles. Leaf in the rear and coil in the front for the better ride. But I'm thinking, what do some of you expect ford (and the competition) to do in the next decade or so as far as suspension goes. Is it IFS in the front, even on the super duties? Maybe air ride in the rear? I would be really surprised if it happened anytime soon but the Honda Ridgeline (yes I know it's a mid sized truck) has it, IRS? Just want to see how some of you would want your truck designed if you had your choice. What's the pros and cons to all the different options?
I was a bit worried that they were going to change it in the 2017 when they kept pushing the "First all new super duty" thing but I'm glad they didn't. But ford could redesign it at anytime if they decid to.
The reason I buy SD Fords are the solid axles.
The day they go to IFS junk I will no longer buy new.
But there are enough used Super Duty trucks to easily last the rest of my lifetime.
The Honda Ridgeline is a unit body car, not a truck. And the bonus of the IRS is you now have 4 rubber CV boots that get torn up while driving through the scrub getting to hunting camp.
