I am just curious with the 2017s being out now, has anyone bought a 2016 super duty leftover? How much is possible to get off the sticker price since im sure they want these trucks to move? I found a lariat 6.7 for 58, think 50k would be realistic?
Guess it really depends on your market. I made an offer of 54k on a 6.7 lariat with invoice @ 61.1k and had to walk out. Dealer thought I was crazy asking for a price like that.
I bought my 2016 crew cab long box lariat 6.2 in October. MSRP was 58k, got it for 43k.
I had to look high and low to find the right combo. All the dealers had many 6.7 trucks and very few dealers had 6.2 trucks that were lariat models.
The "stupid" deals wont' happen until after a vehicle hits "final pay". That's when Ford drops all rebate support and just cuts the dealer a check for the final rebate amount. At this point a dealer will be taking whatever measures are needed to move the unit. Normally these are sorta odd ball units though. In the real world. the dealer will generally make as much on a 2016 as they do on a 2017. The difference is the actual cost difference and the increased rebates on the leftovers.
