We`ve had 2 days of heavy fog which did make me feel like hibernating so I`m happy to see the sun out today.
What`s your plans for today John? I`m spring cleaning my main shop today and looking around for someone to sand blast my inner fenders, grill and a few other front end parts on my 53 M100 resto rod. I can do it myself if I have to but my compressor can`t quite keep up with the 100 lb pot sand blaster. As well I don`t have a fresh air supply.

My compressor is set for 120 psi but I regulate it at 90 psi normally for the air tools. I like to drop the pressure when sandblasting for two reasons, the compressor doesn't work as hard and the sand doesn't hit the metal as hard leaving less chance for warp age. Many people also think the warp age is caused be heat build up but there is no heat caused from sandblasting. You have to think of every kernel of sand a a tiny hammer and that's what warps the metal..air coming from the compressor is actually cool..

This turned out to be a short and nowhere near exciting enough of a day. Tank got its final cuts and tomorrow I'll dig out the hydraulics when I'm in the shop doing shop work. I've got those hydraulic kits from the auction that I can use to spread open the tank and on saturday when its cool again I'll put the tank on the big dolly and hammer it into shape. That should wake up the neighborhood.
