Do the ramps that can be ordered with the truck mount only a set distance apart, or can they be set agaimst each other. And if they can be against each other can i get the dimension across? I am trying to see if my wifes 3 wheeled scooter will fit on the ramps.
If they are like the Ford Ramps I bought for my F150, they will slide on a plate that bolts to the tailgate. The plate has a round bead that runs the length of the tailgate and the ramps have a rolled C channel at the top/bottom. You slide them together from the side and can stop them anywhere along the length of the tailgate. They are about 12" wide so sliding them together will make a 24" ramp. Not cheap, If I remember correctly around $450 for the set with locks, cables, and bed hangers to secure them.
Thanks, if they are the same, that is cheaper the 4k for a scooter lift that has to be bolted into the bed. I am scared to have the installers do the lift, I'd end up taking it out to do the proper protection of the aluminum.
My only concern would be the ramp steepness for the scooter to go up. The Super Duty sits high off the ground in the rear, and those ramps are not arched nor that long. They won't pull out, which is nice, and they store on the BoxLink hangers...but make sure they will work for your scooter.
I believe the ramps are like $700 or something crazy like that. There are a bunch of aftermarket ramps that will work just fine for a couple hundred buck. I'm sure the Ford ramps are nice in that they stow away nicely but I personally would find a less expensive option that will better fit your needs.
