The copper washers looked crushed and fine on that side, even on the one that didn't have any torque I didn't see any carbon trails across the washer. All the cups have cleaned up really easily too.
What I'm really happy about is all the spool valves look brand new. I pulled them out to do the "twoiceburgs" cleanup job on them but they're all perfectly clean and not scuffed at all. The coils don't have the notches though so I know they're not recent remans.
The only thing that seemed strange was the goop.
I definitely had upper seal issues. 2 of them were showing signs of breaking down, one was split.
Were the cups in the heads ever changed? If you had an oil cooler come apart and the injector cups were not done correctly you could have leaked the oil/coolant mess in the cup. Anything possible.

I have no idea, not the original owner.
I thought you only replaced injector cups if one cracked, identified by fuel in the coolant? Would oil cooler problems lead to injector cups?? I don't see the correlation.
I think the oil cooler was done before I got it, just to do it. It was studded and egr deleted at the same time. The person that did it, I'm pretty damn sure did a rush job on it.
If you had an oily coolant mess when the oil cooler let go it could have possibly leaked past the sealant for the injector cup. Also those orings on the injector don't look that old. Usually the white is worn off when you pull a stick.
Some sloppy mechanic coated those injectors with grease prior to assembly. There is no reason to. I've come across it before and again just recently. No worries.
