ZF swap
I have made a post on this a while ago, but I was hoping someone is new to the board and can add some information. I want to remove the M5OD tranny I have and replace it with a ZF 5 speed. I want the granny low with OD for off road, towing, and highway use. I have 35" tires and a fairly stock 302. I think i'm going to remove the 302 and put in a built 351 with about 350hp, so I need the strength of a ZF. I know the tranny will bolt up to the engine, and the bw 13-56 transfer case. I know I'd need a new driveshaft (would I need a custom one?). What I'm trying to figure out is what else do I have to do? I know very little about transmissions. What about hooknig up the clutch and everything?

I know you're partial to your truck, but have you thought about buying a 3/4 ton truck with the motor & tranny you want already in it? Then you'd have all the upgrades you want, and a stronger truck overall to boot.

Nope..because all I'd get is a F-350 with a stock motor and thats not enough. I already have too much in this truck. I know the ZF will go right in, but I just don't know the minor things.
