anything softer?

I need a softer ride..I have 6" pro comp on my truck and it's a rough ride, it's not bad for me but I get complaints from the family...I took a ride on a truck with a skyjacker softride lift on it and there is a lot of difference in the ride quality, I was wondering if I was to swap out my leaf springs with some of those or any softer ones will that do the trick???is there anything else I would have to change to make it ride soft?
thank you for your help, the truck is a 2001 f-250 crew cab, 4x4, powerstroke.

Texasbigred,

The rough ride you describe can be attributed to both springs and shocks. Even if upgrading to better springs such as Skyjackers, or USA made BDS or of course Deavers, you will still need to replace your generically valved ProComp shocks to see full benefit. ProComp, Superlift, Skyjacker, Rancho, and even Fabtech all use generically valved shocks. It doesn't matter if you own a Jeep or an F350, it's the same shock in a different length. I suggest looking into an application specific shock like the Bilstein 5100 or the Edelbrock. These will make a significant improvement in ride quality.

Hope this helps.

I didn't think about the shocks. I guess that's a good place to start, I'll change the shock and if it doesn't improve much I'll go with the springs. thanks.

TEXASBIGRED, can you give me the details on your truck? I like the setup. I am thinking of 6" and 37 too. What size rims/tires are those? Also what is the back spacing? Any trouble with rubbing?

Thanks

Duksrule I'm not really sure of the backspacing of the rims, they are 16X10 and the tires are 37X12.5. I've never had any problems with them rubbing, not even when hitting big bumps, I love the setup it's big enough to be different from other trucks, but i can still get into drive thrus and and some parking garages.....the total height of the truck is 7'-6"
