Getting on interstate... something popped queen white some out of the tailpipe and seeping out of air intake. Here's a video of it briefly started after I pulled over. FML

Sounds like something turned loose in the turbo.

How extensive is that? Could running 15w40 cause a turbo failure? The guy looking at it seems to think turbo also.

No. But 5w40 Synthetic is much better hands down. Pull cold air Intake and spin blades by hand. Engine off of course.
Edit; I meant air intake. Need to put my beer down.

Benny, in the video I didn't hear the pop, but I did hear the rattle in the turbo.
New turbo around $800.00 rebuild if it can be done around $200.00
And of you try to run it and it's on the intake side it could injest the part into the engine. Then you really have problems.

Benny that same thing happened to my turbo 2 weeks ago (not as rough thou) I had a spare turbo and replaced it. Haven't taken mine apart yet to see what it was. Will post when I do.

Turbo rod snapped in half. Some went down the exhaust. If it's anything else I'll report back.

Now follow the path backwards on both circuits, exhaust and intake. Look for metal particles inside the intake manifold before you start collecting replacement parts. - as is you might need a motor and CAC from a donor truck.

CAC should catch most of anything on the intake side. Depending on what you find in there, you may want to replace it.
