finally found air intrusion problem but how do I fix????
While wiring up the e fuel pump I noticed a metal object on my blue fuel line running along the frame. I took a closer look and saw a small drip of fuel and it appears the object has pierced thru it. It looks like a very small flat head screw driver. I don't have the time or funds to replace the fuel line right now. How can I fix it? I was thinking a zip tie over it but I'm not sure if that will work. I'll post a pic in a few mins
the part posted is exactly what you need to fix this.
it will be either 5/16(return line) or 3/8(feed line)...
cut the section out of the hose that's leaking,
one side at a time....
submerse one side in a coffee mug or other vessel filled with boiled water.
hold the line in the hot water for 20-30 seconds and simply push the brass fitting in until the shoulder.
repeat the submersion of hot water if you don't get it all the way in the first time..
do the same with the other side.
the nylon will cool down and be permanently installed to the brass barb.
Got it fixed. Couple hose clamps and the repair kit posted above. I had to cut some old hose out so I didn't have enough to push all the way on the barb shoulder. But I got it on pretty well and clamped it down hard. And boom she fired right up no problem! Here's a picture of the culprit. I believe the previous owner intentionally stabbed it. It was a weird angle for something to fly up from the wheels. Im not sure but it's fixed :-) hopefully it was my air intrusion issue
Wow what a strange thing to find! Who on earth would intentionally do that??...
That definitely would let air in, if it's the supply line. Air can get in places liquid can't leak out, so any drip means air can get in for sure.
Thanks for posting the fix and for the guys that helped explain it. I learned something! I would have just used diesel hose and clamps, slide it over the nylon after cutting it. That repair kit is even cleaner.

The same thought had crossed my mind because I had forgotten about those barb connectors. The reason I remembered them is actually because I was thinking about if the hose clamp would seal on the nylon line or just crush it. I'm fine with a quick fix, but I hate hate hate doing the same job over and over.
dental tools are stainless lol
not aluminum. I have several of these picks,
there great for replacing O-rings on injectors, keep it and use it!
one of those tools you don't really need, but when you find a use for them, they are invaluable
