Hello from the Mojave Desert

Hello all,

Name's Dave. I live in and am from the Mojave Desert, mostly the Twentynine Palms area.

I'm currently working on three Ford trucks.

A 1995 Ford F150 XL (2 Door Extended Cab)
Engine: 4.9L L6 Gas (300 CID)
Transmission: ZF 5 Speed Standard Transmission S5-42

A 1991 Ford F250 XLT Lariat (2 Door Extended Cab)
Engine: 7.5L V8 Gas (460 CID)
Transmission: ZF 5 Speed Standard Transmission S5-42

And an 1991 Ford E350 (Class C Motorhome "Conquest")
Engine: 7.5L V8 Gas (460 CID)
Transmission: Ford 4 Speed Automatic E4OD

Over the years I've owned a few Fords, none of which I have now.

My first car, a 1965 Galaxie 500 XL, with a 390CID V8 and an FMX auto trans. Totaled, due to youth, inexperience and high-speed (way too fast for the road I was on.)

A '63 Galaxie 500 that I transplanted the engine, trans, seats and console with shifter into, from the '65. Ended up selling it. I went into the Air Force and was going to be gone for a few years.

A '65 Mustang Coupe, with a 177CID 6 cylinder and 3 on the tree. Had to sell this one, as I was returning from Spain and couldn't afford to ship it home.

A '65 Galaxie 500, with a 352CID and an FM auto trans (if I remember correctly). Sold this one as well.

My last Ford was a '60 F250, originally with a 292CID V8 and 3 on the tree. Transplanted a '66 390 GT and C6 trans into it in the early '70s. Excellent work truck, it would move up hill, as fast as it would move down hill, loaded or unloaded. Have no idea what this truck's top speed was. Speedometer only went up to 100mph, and I, personally had had the truck where the speedo needle was half way between the 100 mark and zero. I inherited it from my dad, when he died in '92. This one was stolen about 2012 and never recovered.

So, if anyone has seen a '60 F250, with a paint job that's copper on the bottom, tan on the upper body and hood and a cream colored cab roof, I Want It Back!

Oh well, I doubt that it looks like that any more.

Note to the moderators, when I first clicked on a link for a new member introduction thread I was taken here:

Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums > Super Duty/Heavy Duty > 1999 to 2016 Super Duty > NEW MEMBER Introduction Thread (NO TECH QUESTIONS) [page 917]

I don't remember where that link was. Could you please delete my post(s) there?
Thanks, Dave

Hello from the Mojave Desert 2

Oh, I forgot one!

A '60 F100 4x4 with a wrap around rear window and a long bed. 292CID V8 and a 4 speed trans.

Had to sell this one too, lost my job and didn't have the money for the necessary repairs to get it on the road. Or for much else, for that matter.

I had started working on the steering and suspension, when I sold it. Had already done the brakes. One drum came off in 3 pieces when I pulled it off, it was worn that thin!

It was drive-able, after all, I drove it from Ridgecrest, CA to 29 Palms, CA. After the brakes were done of course. The drive was rather slow, that 292 was tired!
