Your town is run by bandits, bandits are to lazy to go on tour. Privateers on the other hand come into town on the wind, pillage your village and run off with your liquor, treasures and any female thats outgrown her training bra, and in 6 months you usually see us again if the previous trip was profitable. Bandits get elected as theres no getting rid of them legally, Privateers can be shot on sight.

I'm lucky in that i've never had a water bill in Calgary but I know of people who get water bills of between $450 and $800 per year. Right now we're having a meter problem and every so often someone will get a $9000 bill, every so often has been 10 - 12 a month. I know of a character who's wife was entertain her kids with the water sprinkler until he started to get usage complaints and calls from the city. His water bill was 2300 for july and august, we've been in drought conditions again this year.

Things went real sour when the mine closed in 86, started to recover some when the sawmill opened but then the mill stopped production when the logging stumbled. Mill is out and running again but they said would likely only be for 5 years so real-estate is going nowhere but south. Up in Red Lake it's a completely different story because of the mine that is in operation..There is million dollar properties there or at least what they are asking for them. Tourist camps up here are in the millions..
