Fuel pump locking ring
My locking ring is rusted on pretty good. I haven't tried to take it off yet because I want to make sure I'm doing it right. Do I need to buy a special tool or can I use another method? Any help will be appreciated.

There may be a special tool, but what I do is take a slotted screwdriver or chisel and a hammer and drive the ring counterclockwise to remove it. It may help to put some penetrating oil on it. Also, be sure to clean off the area around the opening before you remove the pump--you don't want extra dirt in the tank.

It would be better to use a brass punch so you don't ignite any fuel vapors with a spark from the chisel/screw driver. Or, like I foolishly did, cover heavily the end of the screw driver with a glove or other heavy cloth to avoid sparks and tap it around until it breaks loose.
And make sure to drain the tank with a pump before-hand as it will be heavy coming down.
