Can't open the file on the phone. Is the tooth count the same for the S42 and S47?

Here is the information for the S42 as someone may do a search for the information in the future.

If you're buying a gear based on specs you need to know more than tooth count, you need to know tooth count, pitch and if it's a spur gear or left/right handed helix.

Google around to find the part number for the gear for the PTO applications listed then Google around to find an interchange listing for just the gear. That's where you'll find the specs you need if you're trying to figure out if some random gear fits your applications. It's kind of a PITA depending on how popular that gear is or isn't(many gears fit more than one application and there's a few that are somewhat standard).

That is what I am trying to find out. From my research the heart is different from a 47 460 to a 47 7.3 but I have not confirmed that 100%

I am Not trying to buy a gear, I am trying to find out what tooth count PTO works with what trans. And YES, I have tried googing the drive gear in the trans to see if there are different part numbers but have had no luck

This is from some old ZF documentation. I can't seem to find it on the internet anymore. I think the PTO drives from the front gear on the countershaft, which I believe is shown as #4 CS.

I am a little confused. Is the tooth count in that chart the Trans drive gear or the PTO drive gear

Thank you. And I counted 43 teeth on the drive gear in the trans, so I assume that matches up with 4th.

Figures. I have a PTO from a Gas zf5 and a PTO from a s42 diesel. but I do Not have one from a s47(the one I need)

If you can't find one before spring, I may be able to help you. My neighbor has one on a diesel S47, I need one for a gas S47, so we may be able to do a swap.

The truck is currently buried in snow, so it will be a while until I can get under it.

Are you asking how to identify the PTO assembly itself? Surely there must be a part number stamped on it somewhere.
