High Pinion Dana 60

I'm reposting in this section for help.
I have a 71 F250 and I'm searching for the elusive high pinion dana 60 front axle. Were these mostly on the 77 1/2 - 79 F350's? We're they ever on the F250's? Are parts readily available for the dana 60? I've called around the local boneyards with no luck. I've been told that the jeep boys have been snapping them up for their toys. If I were to get lucky enough to find one, would I need to change the drive shaft? Were there high pinion 44's? I guess the only advantages to the high pinion 44's would be the extra ground clearance and disc brakes?

I think they were optional on the F-250s. If you get any good offroad 4x4 magazine you will find companys that sell these axles. There were high pinion 44s, it shouldn't be too hard to find one of those.

regarding Dynatrac, very nice stuff. Emphasis on the "All you can afford". If I recall, their reverse gear D60 fronts were about $5000. I looked at there stuff for my 99F150 4x4 truck...it's the main reason I sold that truck. I was getting carried away....

Somehow, I've gotten carried away on my 67/69 project as well.

As my aunt once said to my wife "I guess it's better than a Red-Headed girlfriend" :-)
