High Capacity Trailer Tow Package
Hi Everyone,
This may have been already answered somewhere else on another thread but here goes. I was looking online at a 2017 F250 SRW Lariat and one of the options on the window sticker is the 'High Capacity Trailer Tow Package'. Does anyone know what is included in this package.
Thanks,

Here it is.....I have it....didn't want/need a 350....Has the Dana Rear axle as opposed to the regular...Rims and hubs look cooler then a regular 250.....Registration is higher...but yeah...basically ups the 250 to a 350. But if I get a 350 now...I'll have nothing to shoot for....LOL.

I'm not an expert by any means, but trying to become one. So I plugged this new number into my spreadsheet and I came up with the fact that I could add a whopping ~4,000 to conventional bumper pull with a max of 17,600 if I'm doing this correctly.
The description above doesn't mention any higher cargo capacity (so I don't know if there is), but it looks like if I'm driving solo, I could actually do the 17,600 with my current cargo capacity.
Interesting that above would put 1,760# on the tongue -- which would exceed the sticker on my current receiver of 1,500#. I wonder if they put a different receiver on, mount it differently, or just slap another sticker on it.
It seems it would not help me with fifth wheel at all -- unless there is an increase in cargo capacity -- but their towing guide gives nothing of an increase on fifth wheel/gooseneck just because of the higher GCW.
I apologize for rambling (on an academic subject for me -- as there is no way to add this after market from what I've heard)... just trying to develop a deep understanding of this subject and welcoming any input from anyone who disagrees or can help me learn -- and hoping to contribute to OP's understanding of the subject as well.
P.S. I'm pretty sure my GCW is 21,300 not 23,500 lbs. I've never understood how to buy a 23,500 lbs. F250... delete the box maybe?

I do believe there is also one more leaf in the rear spring pack aside from the overload leaf based on the chart that was posted here a while back. That said, the spring packs are the only difference between all three animals when talking physical (not stickered) capacity. The Sterling 10.5 is rated to 9600# so it certainly isn't a weak link...
