Service engine soon at cold start

On my 7.3 super cab, I changed the fuel filter last Friday and now on cold start the service engine soon light comes on for a couple minutes (approximately) on a cold start. No other issues. Tried scanning with my scan gauge 2 and no codes.(of coarse I think that thing is a joke for scanning). Not sure if this means anything, but last week before I changed the filter I thought I smelled diesel fuel on a couple different occasions. If I actually did it may not even be related. Anyone have any input on this?

If you have the round scan gauge 2 and not the rectangular scangauge, then it should be able to pull codes. Mine always has.

It's not fuel pressure causing the light so ignore the fuel filter part. Are there any symptoms or just the light? If you monitor ICP and IPR% at cold start, what do the numbers look like?

Mine is the rectangular scan gauge. I had bought it for one of the 6.0's I've had so it's not programmed for the 7.3. But I will see if I can find the pid for it. No symptoms at all. Just the light comes on on cold start for 30 seconds or there about then goes out. Doesn't matter if it's been plugged in or not. Runs fine starts fine etc. never had it before changing the filter Friday but I figured it was just coincidence. I will try to get it in the garage tonight and see if I bumped any wiring or anything when I changed it.
