Ok so you raise the front up 2" higher then the engineers designed the truck for so you can then add "air bags" to the rear to relevel the truck after it is loaded down like the engineers designed in the truck the first place.............. Ok got it now......I think

He'll be blinding incoming cars now, he won't have to wait until he loads the rear down. We've already seen threads on this.
Heck, I get high beam flashed now and my truck is empty with no leveling kit.
He will definitely have to adjust his headlights, but he's still going to make a bunch of people mad.

I think they level the truck because that's what they want, which to me is a perfect reason since they paid for the truck.

So is it done purely for aesthetics or is there any functional uses?

My last truck I put a bumper and a winch on the front and it sagged about an inch. granted the grill guard is not as heavy but I didn't want that to happen. There's no other way to make up the difference for adding accessories to the front of theses trucks. Chevy/gmc have torsion keys.... we have to use spacers. That's what I wanted to do. To each his own.

It could also allow you to fit larger tires in certain situations. I'm probably going to just do the 1", because I don't want my truck to sag in the back pulling a trailer.

I disagree...did you read his post. He went 2" and said it was far from level. No way that nose is higher...it's just the angle of the pic. Level kits are just that...to LEVEL the truck...for both looks and to give a little extra space in the front for bigger tires. Yes...headlights might have to be adjusted but that is expected on any truck that you change from the factory. I'm staying stock on mine...but I do like the look of the leveled 2017's.

the truck looks sweet. Love the color and the lift. I personally don't like the look of a stock rake and will eventually do the same thing you are doing. 2" lift in the front and bags in the rear if I need them. We don't all have the same taste, and we don't all need to agree but we SHOULD all be respectful of each other (not that anyone has been disrespectful). In addition to that we need to respect the honesty of contrary opinions, without them we couldn't challenge our own thoughts to reaffirm our own believes.

a bit silly when put that way but ya.

At least its not a F350 slammed to the ground with 24" wheels and rubber so thin it looks painted on. When your fat buddy Larry jumps in the passenger side drags.

Doing if for looks is one reason but there's another really practical reason for raising the front of the truck. Please turn your attention to Exhibit A:

Yes, but it's just the plastic air deflector. I loosened and re-tightened the screws and it snugged back up tight. Have to wait to replace it though. Can't get them yet.

If you go with the deflector for a two-wheel drive truck, you'll gain a couple inches, but still get the positive effects of the deflector.
