I was thinking of converting the rear jump seats in my supercab to a bench seat. Supposedly it is illegal to have kids side facing if they are under 16 and I am turning this into my hunting/camping/snow rig and want to be able to bring the kids along on short trips. Do I have to find a donor truck? is there a range of years to pull the rear bench out of? Aftermarket?
I doubt there is a law against kids being allowed in jump seats. I would change the seats out to a bench seat though myself.
I got a 96 Ford Supercab rear seat for my truck. It looks the same as the 70's seat except for the lower half of the seat has a taller bracket onto the floor. I think once I swap the bracket over from the old seat it will bolt right in though.

Ive got three so I would definitely prefer a bench. I have the front seat out of a 96 supercab so that would match for sure. Since I am switching over from jump seats is there somewhere I could buy that lower floor bracket from? or is it something i could cut/weld and modify slightly
I cut the lower bracket in half, shortened it 4" or so, then welded the bottom section of the bracket back on! Used seats from a 96 F350 SC....Perfect fit!!

To swap out the jump seats for a bench, you will need the rear corner latch for the seat (top right rear corner of the cab--right below rubber pad) to latch secure! IIRC, the SC's that came from the factory with jump seats didn't have this latch...?
