1970 1/2 Falcon (assembled from 1/2/1970) is a sub series of the Fairlane, uses the Fairlane 2 door sedan, 4 door sedan and 4 door station wagon bodies.
There were no Fairlane (nor Torino) 2 door sedans in 1970, only 2 door hardtops.
Falcon was the only 2 door sedan available that year in the Falcon, Fairlane, Torino line.
Many of the 70-1/2 Falcon 2 door sedans became drag racers.
Falcon, Fairlane, Torino were trim levels of the same chassis, not distinct and individual car lines.
There were no Fairlane (nor Torino) 2 door sedans in 1970, only 2 door hardtops. I beg to differ.
Pic: 1970 Fairlane/Torino body style 62, this is a 2 door sedan w/a post (notice the frame around the door). There were no Torino's like this, only Fairlanes some of which had Falcon nameplates on them.
1960/70 parts catalog symbol for a Falcon was X, but 1970 1/2 Falcon used a B, same as Fairlane/Torino.

I don't care what your book says. No 2 door sedan was badged a Fairlane. They were all badged Falcons.
Body code 62 was never applied to the Fairlane, only the Falcon. See this link:
