Hello I am rebuilding a 1989 f-150 and I have a question about installing a Goosneck hauler...
I want too beef up the load that it can handle from stock.... I am looking for any and all help i can get
Sounds good so far. I would look into an rear airbag setup.
A friend of mine with a Super Duty has bought a new truck every year (must be nice) and each one he has added an airbag setup to help him pull his 5th wheel. For a Super Duty this is overkill, but you can benifit tremendously from it.
Cant go wrong with the 460 / C-6 combo for your needs but to save some extra heat in your trans make sure to install a trans cooler and maybe a deep pan on trans also , trust me your tranny will thank you for it and live much much longer.
Ya, what about brakes, tires, rims, cooling, axles, front springs, sway bars etc etc....there are A LOT of factors that go into how much weight a vehicle can tow.
