A few time i have went to go and nothing happened. then it works after a few pumps or bit not while I'm driving. just after start up. Is this a TPS thing?
I've had an issue with my TPS and I get the corresponding code. I've used my brother's pedal assembly and all has seemed to be fine. Installed on his truck, which he doesn't drive as often and it wouldn't increase throttle at idle. I've found a link where you can buy the IVS, just have to buy a large quantity.
I believe the Dorman assembly is 250ish and the ford assembly is 600ish the last time I looked.
Seems really stupid to have to buy the whole assembly for so much money. Someone makes the IVS since they are made for the made for the whole assemblies. Why the heck can't you buy them separate? --money
^^^^ Well, yes and no. The Dorman assembly MIGHT be newly manufactured, but is probably made from the cheapest, lowest-quality components available, including the IVS. (It is Dorman, after all....) The Ford assembly is most likely, like most OEM parts for our generation of truck, new old stock. So even if it's better quality, it doesn't mean the IVS that was originally made for it is still being made, nor that it's available in small quantities.
OP's best bet would be a pedal assembly from a part-out truck. That, and the equipment to test whether it's the switch or the sensor, so you can decide what to do with the old assembly as a spare.
would it not likely be the same part in any truck in the 94 to 97 time frame if not more. Some parts are still use in 2016 truck as ours. Just thinking there has to be plenty of f150 parts around.. I'm still going to clean it.
I had to give my brothers assembly back yesterday which made his truck set up as well. I believe I can eliminate any wiring issue. No issues while using assembly on mine. So I found a assembly for 240.00 on Auto Nation Ford White Bear Lake. But it has part number F6TZ-9F836-AA which is the same part number in the sticky section for part numbers but mine says F6TA-9F836-AA. The only difference is the A and the Z. Is this the same?
I also found on the same site has part number F2TZ9B989C for a throttle position sensor. This matches the sticky part section too. Anyone purchase one? My has F5TF9F832. Would this work? Good price at 37.68.
I also ohmed out the IVS and it didn't show any problem over many clicks.
Ive read the Dorman reviews and they aren't great. What about the Standard Auto Parts at Rock Auto? The design isn't the same. As factory but would that matter?
I don't have a parts truck, so that isn't an option for me. Like to stay with OEM if possible.
No not yet. It is still working right now.. i figure if the switch goes out i can hot wire it.. not sure if it has any adverse symptoms or not. I know it is a safety item.
Well for the heck of it i went to e bay and found a complete pedal assembly for 65.00 the dealer has great feedback ans sells only diesel parts. I say that is a great deal and will toss it in the truck with the other growing parts back up pile.
