So i found out that my 77 F150 has the later model 78 79 steering that has been put on. I recently ordered a 4 inch lift for it. So my question is do i need a drop pitman arm for my lift now thats required for 78 an 79 trucks? i will be starting on it next thursday.
You mean Y versus T linkage set up? I cannot see a difference in the 77 or 78/79 steering box that would require you to order a 77 specific or 78/79 specific drop pitman arm. Unless I am really missing something, and that is a very good possibility. lol
Are you going to get an adjustable drag link or use a drag link drop bracket?

You do if you relocate the TB with a longer frame bracket & want to maintain good road habits.
'78-9 PA has two holes, DL has two ball joint ends.
'77 PA has a ball joint at DL end (called a Rt Tie Rod on a '77).
'78-9 style linkage is a far superior driving set up.
