Nevada's December BS Thread

Afternoon everyone.
Wow what a rough week. Sunday nite my service Tommy started coughing & chucking up bile. He has had a cough every so often for about a year that a vet said was something to do with his throat nothing to worry about. Monday morn he was having trouble breathing wouldn't eat. Rushed him to his regular vet. He was full of cancer. So he wouldn't suffer we had him put down. We have been crying for 4 days.
The up side is we found an English Lab puppy. We are going up tomorrow to see him. If we like him we will pay the deposit. He will ready to go home on Jan 8th.
He is a cute guy. I will start training him as soon as I get him. He comes from a long line of Champion show English Labs.
R.I.P. Tommy. You were my life line for the 6.5 years you were with me. We miss you so much. We think Tommy was from the same line of English Labs as the pup.

Good morning Greg and the Nevada crew, happy Friday! The poo will be hitting the fan here today, wintry mix to start, then snow, then temps the next few days in the single digits....Have I mentioned lately that I hate winter?

Craig, sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how you are feeling. Lost a cat last week, and I only knew her a year, and it still tore me up inside. Grand kids took it better than I did. (It was their cat too).
Happy Friday Nevada and friends. hope everyone has a great day.

Morning everyone.
Off to work I go, while everyone else gets to play. This adulting thing sucks!
Craig, training a dog for service is a long and difficult task. Some will take to it better and faster than others. It is worth the work and you will have an unbreakable bond by the time you are finished. None can be replaced, but the heart should always be open for one to follow.
Jim, hows the setup in the new place coming along?

I'm so sorry to learn about Tommys passing. He was a big mush & gentle giant.. just so lovable! Kaedon will be upset to hear about her playful cuddle buddy. Our thoughts & prayers are with you both. :* (

Happy Sunday Nevada and friends. Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Greg, the unpacking is almost done. With the exception of the TV (and VCR/DVD recorder, Xbox 360 and cable box hook up) the living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom are done. The bedroom, however, still looks like a storage unit. I will try and finish that up after church today. And pick up my TV from the grand kid's place since it was loaned to them for the Thanksgiving party. I didn't pick it up just to take it to storage, so I let them keep it until now.
So far, the only casualty in the move was one of the Altec Lansing speakers I use for my main desktop computer. I dropped the small trash bag that had all four of them in it, and this one got cracked. I am hoping I can fix it, but I don't see a way to open it up. I have had these speakers for 16 years, and love them. I may try and find a electronics repair place to see what can be done. I have looked at the current crop of surround sound speakers for PC's and don't like the styling of most, or they are so expensive I can't afford them. I have the mode set to surround so I get sound from the 3 other speakers, and subwoofer of course, but the one that broke is the left front, and you can definitely tell the difference with it not working.
Donna, my Christmas shopping is all done.

I wondered if I had it in me to train another dog, but my wife kept reminding me of how well I have done over the years with animals. I was a professional farrier & trained horses & dogs in my younger days. So as I thought about it I decided it was just what I needed to go on. The loss of Tommy has thrown me into a tough place. Thank God for my wife & her love & help.
