Do you have the P/N for the Morimotos? Where did you get them from?
We got ours from a local stereo/retrofit shop. We paid $200 for them. This may sound high, but they are a COMPLETE replacement for the entire fog lamp assembly. They are integrated lights/lenses in a sealed enclosure. You pull out the entire factory fog lamp assemblies, and slip these in.
The installation was a tiny bit confusing until I figured out how to pry out the old assemblies. Hint: a narrow slot-blade screw driver and paint scraper did the trick.
$200 seems to be the going rate. I've been watching them on Amazon for a few months and they haven't fluctuated in price at all. Stage 3 (the link above) had them for $150 during their Black Friday sale.
Those look pretty nice! I wonder if they fit the f150. they do look similar. Do you have a picture of the housing? Maybe they're interchangeable or they're just special bulbs.
My dad has a 2016 F-150 with halogen lights. This weekend, if I remember, I'll see if they are the same. Looking at them previously it looks for sure the size and mounting is identical, but I'd bet you'd have to replace the whole F-150 housing with the Super Duty housing and not just the bulb.
On the Super Duty, the LED bulb is located on the top (roof?) of the lens...rather than the bulb coming from the rear of the lens as is traditional.
There is no "bulb" in the Morimoto assembly. The whole assembly is the replaceable unit. Don't know if the Super Duty version is a different size, but it might be worth investigating; especially if it's less expensive.
