Hey guys. Ive been looking at tuners for my powerstroke. Thinking I might go with the mini maxx. I dont care about the warranty anymore. This exhaust fluid system fault crap is getting annoying. My question is when I buy the tuner will it come ready to hook up to the truck and use it to clear the dpf and egr stuff along with the cel or will I have to send it off to have that stuff loaded on to it. All this emissions and sensor crap makes me miss my 7.3 so bad.
The place I bought mine recomended the SCT with custom tunes for delete, the mini max doesn't have great customer service, and the screen is smaller that the live wire TS. I haven't installed it yet, hope to do it this week
I got the above linked from Rudy's about two months ago and got it installed with the 4" delete pipe. To answer your question, Yes the tunes that are loaded onto the device when you receive it have all the "emissions equipment" turned off. There is no back and forth.

Reason: can't spell
Steve, you could run a splitter and run both. I can't remember what the MM does when you disconnect it. I thought it reverted to stock power, but maintained the emission status (as in if you were deleted, that would continue, but no power gains). The part that concerns me is someone tries to flash your truck and bricks it because they don't realize its tune. Out of sight, out of mind. I'd encourage you to run both via: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UC11NLW?psc=1
Im running the SCT LIVEWIRE TS+ with VOODOO custom tunes, and have absolutely no complaints. truck shifts firmly, minimal smoke even on the race tune, average mileage gain was about 6mpg in the race tune with daily driving. Voodoo has top notch customer service, they are willing to answer any questions you might have and have been able to beat competitors pricing on shipping and parts show up in a timely manner.

The MM reverts back to stock pwr level when unplugged. My truck is out of warranty so doesn't go in where it could get flashed.
I've seen the Y-adapters but haven't seen anyone report if they work or not. I have some OBD connectors so maybe I'll try making one.
As others have said...SCT Livewire. Load it up with custom tunes and delete it. Other than the SCT, I put on an AFE Exhaust, Rivercity EGR Delete and AFE Cold Air Intake. I put up two videos on You Tube. First one explains why I deleted it and the second is a year after update. Hope this helps.
