I was looking at the Haynes manual for the Aerostar and they describe 3 types of mirrors available for our van - the standard one mounted on the door, the "west coast" style bolted on the door, and the power one that's much bigger than the standard mounted higher on the door.
I have the "power" mirrors, but for the life of me I can't find the dash switch for it! Did they make this mirror in a non-power version or did a previous owner visit the junkyard and retrofit power mirrors without bothering to hook them in?
I love how big these mirrors are - was great for towing a tent trailer this summer, but I'd love to adjust them from the driver's seat instead of leaning over to adjust them after my wife has driven the van. I was wondering if these are power mirrors that were retrofitted, or did they make them in Manual?
The adjustments are on the door. Just below the window about 3 to 5 inches from the front on both the driver and passenger doors. If the connectors are there, they are in the door panels. You will need to get the switches from a Junk Yard or pay a fortune at Ford.
