Holiday fuel prices

Well, it's almost Labor Day, the last big holiday of the season, and naturally, gas prices are on the rise, just like they do every holiday. Gas prices around here in NC have shot up over $0.10 in the last few days, from about $1.50 to about $1.62 or so for regular. At the store where I normally buy diesel, the price for it went from $1.499 to $1.439 in the same time period, which I thought was weird. I figure it's getting ready to shoot up also, so I stopped and filled up with $30 worth this morning on my way into work. Does this holiday gas price phenomenon occur everywhere? It really pi$$es me off.........

Here in Reno gas went up .30 in the past 3 weeks while diesel remains at $1.63 where I buy from. Gas is ranging from $2.09 - $2.13.

Here in East Hampton, Long Island, NY, gas prices have gone up also, to the tune of .15-.20/gal. $1.87 for 87 at the Hess. Still $1.83/gal for diesel (@mobil), up from 1.79 a few weeks ago. I'm sure that will go up too. Always seems to lag behind gas a little. We totally get fleeced here, but it sounds bad in Reno too.

Here in Western Washington State. 87 is at 1.89 and 92 I've seen as high as 2.19, where diesel has just gone up fromm 1.68 to 1.75 in the last couple weeks. but then again ... it all depends on where in western WA you live.. these are just the places I pass on the way to work each day. I just filled up today and diesel is at $1.74 here. What a racket they have with the raise of prices for the weekend. If the price of hay wasn't so expensive I would say lets go back to horse and wagon.......OK, maybe not.

I got a good laugh two days ago while filling up. I left the truck running and the man at the pump beside me thought it was too loud and told me "he had no idea why people drive those loud things". I ask him what kind of mileage he gets and he replied 13mpg, so I told him I drive a 4x4 instead of 4x2 and still get 18 consistantly, but he is making it up by paying $.21 per gallon more for gas. Here in NW oklahoma I am paying $1.48 for diesel and gas is $1.69 for regular no lead. duece

I guess the Phoenomenon isn't just in KY after all. GAS prices started at 1.339 and 1 week ago shot to 1.699 then came down to 1.429 and then shot back up to 1.799. All tthe while Diesel went from 1.329 to 1.399 Last time I filled up I got 15.4 mpg towing about 25% of the time.

In NorCal, it's 1.89 for Diesel , 2.29 for 87...... Can we say OW! One place has 1.66 Diesel for cash only. I guess we just bend over and take it, what other choices do we have?

Heating oil, gas & diesel up 5 cents this week. I have almost completely stopped driving my gasser due to the fuel costs. This is BS. But what can we really do?

Here in Alaska the road tax is 20 cents a gallon. Heating oil is 10 cents under #2. Thats not right in my book, thats a fleecing.

Here in Houston the diesel is between 1.42-1.49 which shot up after only being about 1.35 last week

Keep working harder so they can bleed us to death.

SF bay area prices are brutal, ranging from 2.09 for regular unleaded to 2.39 for premium no lead. The cheapest I saw for diesel was 1.79. Ouch.
