Thanks in advance.
I had custom tunes written when my motor work was completed 8 months ago. The tunes were based on the stock transmission. I just got a new stage 2 Trans put in yesterday. My question is do the tunes need to be updated for the new application? Thanks
Who did the tunes? You could always call them and ask, the good writers are normally willing to talk with you about things like major performance changes.
Got them from Warren <<nvr liked that one. Gear Head and WPE. The reason I'm asking is that the truck just doesn't seem near as fast. Almost feels like the gearing is different. Which of course I know it isn't. Sounds weird I'm sure but something definitely feels different. I've ran them all since the install and the feeling is pretty consistent throughout.
Load the stock tune and disconnect the batteries. Turn on headlights for a few minutes after, then reconnect. Drive truck a few miles and then load the tune. That will kill KAM, keep alive memory, has the adaptive learned driving habits stored there.
Not positive but I'd do a trans relearn as well. That should start everything from scratch.
What your trying to do is discharge the capacitors that hold any type of memory. IF you disconnect the negative cables from both batteries, then just turn the headlights on, some say for 30 minutes... not sure it takes 30 minutes.
