100w headlights & wiring write up?

Would anyone want me to do a complete write up of prices and parts for installing new headlights and new 100w xenon bulbs.

the difference in brightness was incredible and looks stock with a extremely slight blue look on the lights of the truck. (mainly just bright white)

went on a 1995 f150 5.0 xlt, supercrew

I wouldn't be against the idea of higher wattage bulbs, if heat wasn't a concern for the plastic assembly and the connector.

Aftermarket or retrofitted HID is illegal. The optics are designed for a halogen bulb, so excessive glare is created.

I think I'll just stick with head light relays and good quality clear halogen bulbs that don't have any blue coatings on them.

20ft Of 12 gauge wire.
Electrical connectors (butt connectors with heatshrink was my choice)
Fused wire holder (for battery protection for hot wires, I choose 40 amp pin)
Eyelet connectors (for negatives and one for positive on batt.)
2 ANZO headlight relays (local o'reilly's has them, high and low 4 pins)
With the relays any should work but they need to be a OK for continually running
20ft of electrical conduit. ( I wrapped everything I could )
9007 100w bulbs
New headlight assemblies
9007 heavy duty ceramic headlight wire harness
Heavy duty zip ties to wrap everything nicely.

I went with some 100w xenon bulbs that are tinted blue on the outside but they do not appear blue like you think they would. they are more of a bright white. I will post pictures of the setup later this evening after I get done with some other stuff.

these headlights came in 2-3 days and fit like a glove. they seem to be well made but I still put a bead of silicone around the whole exteriors of them for leak-proofing.

these are the most important to using 100w bulbs. If you dont have something like this the risk you run in burning a connector is extremely high.

Even thought they are tinted blue, they do not come off the headlights blue, it is more white than blue

also when wiring in the relay the difference from running the lights off the interior switch vs. the power straight off the batter/alternator is pretty significant in brightness.

More importantly, the relays eliminate the risk of burning your truck to the ground by running WAAAY too much current through the headlight switch.

So it looks from the pics like those headlights come with bulbs; what were those like?

The lights that came with it work great. They are just your std. 55w halogen. I ran them for 1 week before I put in the 100w bulbs they worked well and even worked better when they ran off the relay when they had 14.something volts flowing through them.

Any heat issues with those housings and the 100-watters? Those look like decent housings, like they're not trying just to make it look cool at the expense of how well they light.

IMO putting in a relay system for the headlights is a good idea even without a 100w bulb. There's too much voltage drop through the stock switch & wiring.
