stuck mirrors
I recently purchased a 1999 S.D. with the telescoping mirrors. I would say that they have been out for some time because I can not get them to slide in. I have not worked on them a long time but I did spray some silicone in between the moving parts as best I could with no luck. I have pushed and hit them with as much force as I dare . Anyone else have this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Brent.

I'm gonna ask what may be a really stupid question here but are you sure (since you bought the truck used) that they are the telescoping mirrors?
Having answered that question are you sure that they are not all the way in? Have you tried to get them to extend or just go in?
I know these are probably dumb questions but I gotta ask

I'm pretty sure that some if not all of the '99 TT mirrors were not adjustable......at least the ones on our '99 F-450 aren't.
If they were adjustable there would be a couple of red arrows and some white lines on the bottom mirror arm. If the bottom arm is all black plastic with no lines then they cannot be adjusted.

I had the sameones on my 99 SD. The arms are all black with no white or red measurement marks. I thought they stuck out like elephant ears, so i swapped them out with some i got on ebay for a pretty good price.

Thanks for the help and Iam sorry for the post. I f I had checked things out alittle better I would have known that the 99 mirrors were non-retractable. Thanks again, Brent.
