Tranny Questions
Just got a 88 F250 with 460 motor and 3.55 gears. When I hauled my camper for the first time this weekend, between 45-55 mph the motor or tranny would wind up and then float back in at around 62. If I was rolling along and entered a downhill glide the engine or tranny would do the same thing. There was never any bang shifting and I'm afraid that maybe it was overspinning? When going up hill and it happened the truck would reduce speed somewhat until it hit 60 or so and then it would climb steady from there. I've checked the tranny fluid and it is right on. There is no overdrive mark on the column, only D and 2,1, so I didn't think I was having overdrive trouble. This is my first Ford ever and I don't know what to listen for. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like you have a C-6. Is the TRANS code on your door sticker K or G? Those are know as "bulletproof", but have someone set the bands and vacuum modulator. A transmission shop will probably do all that & fluid/filter for $40-60.

Trans code on the door is a K. So the sounds I hear are not the mass destruction of my transmission? I will attempt to find a tranny shop in my area to do ask you've suggested. Can the Ford Dealer in town do that?
