Noisy York Compressor
In my 78 F150 400 134A converted factory A/C, the compressor sounds like a box of rocks between 1200-1800 RPM. I just redid the system. At first, I thought it was a bad rebuild from AutoZone, so I drove it up there and said "Hey listen to this". The counter guy (experienced) said "Hmmm thats not right. Here's a new one. Same problem.... Is this a harmonic issue with this compressor and, if so, how do I make it go away? I always remember this compressor as rattling and shaking and everyone saying "Thats just the way they are on these trucks."
I have about as best I remember around 40PSI low and 250 high side at fast idle, 95 ambient air.
