I need to remove the dual tank switch to check for possible corrosion and wear. Has anyone removed this and what's the easiest way to do it? Any help is appreciated.
I removed this switch on a 89 f250.
You have to remove all the screws that hold the plastic cosmetic pieces on the column. Also, everything should just snap out.
Do not force anything. The column cover is a two piece cover on 89. Remove that. Then proceed to the screws and pry/snap the cosmetic pieces. My xlt has the rosewood color plastic around the gauges, i do not know what yours has. There is also a connector to the dual tank switch and two screws to it as well that hold it to the plastic snap in piece.
