Tree to the floor
Here in the next month o so im going to be getting a '67 or '68 pickup & this morning i found out it was a 3 on the tree, which is kinda good; keeps grandmother from useing it 
, but i was wondering where, if at all, could i find a kit to put the shifter in the floor?

Check out Hurst shifters at your local preformance shop. They have a few good universal shifters. I converted an old ElCamino from 3 on the tree to 4 on the floor using them. They may have an application for your truck.

If you have an autozone nearby they have a good 3 spd floor shifter for ya. If I remember correctly they run 54.99 . The brand name is Mr Gasket. Thats where I got mine.

I've got one of those hurst/Mr gasket jobs, and it is pretty darn sloppy. You have to pull it to the left and push/pull to get in/out of R and 1st, and push right to get in/out of 2nd/3rd. If you dont, the shifter will slip between the front and back fork, and you gotta crawl under the truck and fix it. Might not have been that bad new, but it is adjusted right, and I cant wait to get that toploader in there. Only $150 away!!!
