We're talking F-150, not F-350. The F-250 and F-350 (and up) have different, and larger frames than the F-150.
On an F-150, you have the "short" frame, and a "long" frame. Different combinations of cab (regular, supercab, and supercrew) dictate which boxes will or won't fit.
Suffice it to say, the longest frame will accommodate a supercrew cab plus the 6.5' box. That's as long as that will go. If you need the 8' box, then you need to scale down the cab size.
There are 5 frame sizes. Each of the 5 wheelbase options has its own frame. The shortest is the regular cab with 6.5' bed. The longest is the supercab with 8' bed. The rest are somewhere in between.
Coming from 3 ecos and a power stroke I can say this 5.0 pulls 10k like a freight train!! Maybe not as fast as the other 4 but in no way is it a slouch at all!!! Amazed at how loaded out this thing gets up to speed and holds it. Sometime like it's not back there

You totally misunderstood what I said.

My crewcab LONG BED(8' bed) F350 is 20'
I dont understand how you are saying a crewcab 6.5' bed F150 is LONGER than the pretty much the same truck with a 1.5' longer bed

I don't see where he ever made any statements regarding the relative length of an F150 vs. anything else.
The super crew 6.5' F150 is over 20' long (243.7"). The 2017 F350s come in at over 22' (266.2") in a supercrew 8' bed. Last generation was a few inches shy of that due to the smaller cab, at just under 22'.

Well... I know for sure that my SuperCrew F-150 with a 6.5' bed is 20' 4" (approximately). I'm betting that a crew cab F-350 with an 8' box is a tad longer. Maybe as much as 22'?
I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2015+ F150.
I want the V8 and either the supercab short bed(6.5) or the crewcab short bed(6.5)
I am not having much luck finding a 6.5 bed in a crewcab. I know it was an option, just not finding anything
is there any other problems that i could "avoid" or be aware of?
I got a 2016 V8, crewcab with 6.5' box and added a canopy. Coming from a diesel F350 crewcab with 8' box. I love the F150 and the smooth ride, shorter turning radius. Just drove from the NW to southern Baja Mexico pulling a 19' travel trailer with the bed loaded with gear and supplies. Love the ride, power, transmission and fuel economy. The only thing I'll be adding are some Firestone airbags to level up the rear a couple inches while towing with a load.
I bought it in May and found it at a dealer in Portland, Oregon, but was willing to order it if I hadn't found a 6.5'. It did seem that most dealers had tons of 5.5' beds, but not many 6.5.
