Became a Ford man back in 1991 when I bought a 1977 Ford F-100 shortbed sidestep from one of my Soldiers. This was the foundation that got me interested in repairing / rebuilding my first vehicle.

My wife and I enjoyed using this truck as a hobby to rebuild the 302 engine, tranny and brake system. Broke my heart when I had to let it go before moving to Germany.

Got back home and bought my first NEW Ford Taurus in 1998 fell in love with it for reliability and safety. Traded that in for another NEW 02 Ford Taurus which SAVED MY LIFE after having a head on collision with another vehicle while driving home from Nashville on HWY 24.

Replaced the car with a beautiful 2009 Ford Escape Limited and a few months later bought a 09 Ford Taurus Limited. Haven't had ANY issues with the Taurus, but the Escape.......

First issue was the knock sensors, then the fuel door, then oil leaks from the pan, then had to replace the wiring harness..... Still, this Escape is a great vehicle and just needs a little love and attention. Besides, it has only given me more confidence is solving the riddles that she throws at me from time to time.

Will be looking in purchasing a F150 or F250 next year and will use this forum to identify any issues with this truck!
