Camper Special siding

On my '71 Camper Special, some of the faux wood attached to the metal stripping has faded, or been covered up by some deposits. Is there any way that I could bring back some of the original color? Also, the metal stripping itself seems to have a lot of calcium, or lime or something, deposited onto it. What do you recommend to remove it?

Thanks

You need a really good metal polish/ cleaner. There are numerous ones out there, available at any good auto parts store. You'll just have to try several and see what works best. A company called Enviro-Tech (same company that makes Dri Wash 'n Guard) makes a very good one, but it is a little expensive. As for the wood, I believe that's a very durable contact paper/ vinyl originally made by 3M. You should try to contact them and see if they can offer any help.
