I Have 2 problems, maybe related on my 99' Explorer XLT, 4 liter SOHC. Ist is on any start, hot or cold. The engine starts fine, idles high, 1100-1200 rpm the drops like a rock to a few hundred rpm. It always recovers without dying. The 2nd thing is while driving during mild acceleration, at any speed, sometimes there is a buzzing felt in the gas pedal. There is no stalling or hesitation. Am I worried about nothing?

I'm having the same problem with my '99 Explorer sport. Roughly around 2000 rpm in 3rd or OD, the pedal starts to buzz/vibrate then goes away about 2300 rpm. It's loud as hell and quite annoying. I found a TSB about it, yet was not able to find a fix. I know it's got NOTHING to do with wheels, bushings, tires, alighnment, etc. because it's isolated to the pedal and cable itself, not the entire vehicle as described in some of the other threads I've read. Did you happen to find anything out about this problem, I could use the help and don't want to continue to worry about it.
I have given up on it. My problem can't be heard. I only feel it in my foot. I suspect a servo somewhere. My ford dealer sort of laughed and wanted big bucks for diagnosis. It's been 3 years with no change. If it ain't broke don't fix it, I guess.
