Just picked up a 96 F150 XLT Reg Cab. The passenger door lock wont turn with the key, but does lock/unlock with the power switch from inside.
Using the Haynes Manual; I'm tyring to remove the door trim panel and see whats going on with the lock. But I cant get past the arms rest screw. Its out, but the arm rest wont budge. Is there another pin or screw somewhere I missed?
Did you actually remove the screw? If not, it can act like a pin and keep you from removing the panel. There are ~6 short screws along the bottom of the door pocket and another by the vent window. You also have to remove the switch plate from the panel & stuff it into the hole before you pull the panel. Then pop all the plastic rivets loose from the lower part of the door and lift the handle. Lift the panel to release it from the window opening (the vent window has to be slightly open) and work it off the handle. Unhook the courtesy light and the panel is free.
