Disc Brakes??
This is probably the wrong place to post this, but I couldn't find the right place so here goes.
I have a 93 F250, the front disc brakes aren't fully releasing. If you jack it up and try to spin the tire it will only go around about a half turn and with the tire off you can just barely turn the rotor. Both wheels do the same thing. I know that it's not supposed to be that tight, but I can't figure out what the problem is. I have replaced both calipers and it still does the same thing. Someone told me that it could be the proportioning valve, but I don't see how it could cause the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

It feels just fine under normal or heavy braking. I replaced the proportioning valve today, and I don't think it made any difference. I didn't get to test drive it because when I tried to start it up the glow plug controller amost caught on fire
Somebody suggested to me that the rubber brake lines could be the problem, any thoughts on that? Could the master cylinder be messed up in some way that it would cause this problem? Past that I don't really have any idea of what it could be
I really would like to fix it myself and not have to take it to a shop, so if there are any other ideas on what might be wrong with it please tell me
Thanks,

Are the calipers properly lubricated so they slide as required? This is an item that I had forgotten to do for over 20 years. Just takes a little grease to make things work much better. The sliding surfaces need disc brake grease. Usually the locking pins or bolts do too.
I assume you bled the brakes to remove any air which can expand when hot.
I would suspect a warped rotor if nothing else is apparent.
Good Luck,

Ok here's an update on what I have done.
I replaced the calipers again (under warratny) the rubber brake lines, master cylinder and had the rotors turned. Now the front wheels turn very easily
Now for the new problem with the engine off the brake pedal feels just fine but when you start it up it slowly goes to the floor, so I said ok I need to bleed the brakes some more. After doing that and finding no air I tried the pedal again, and once more found the same results engine off pedal feels fine engine on pedal goes to the floor
So any ideas on what might be causing this new problem??
Thanks
