Road trip questions for ID folks
Have a question for those of you in Idaho. I've got a road trip coming up next year from Seattle to Eagle/Boise. I'm getting inspired to extend the trip and take "the road less traveled". Instead of taking the direct route (which I've done lots of times), I'm thinking of dropping into Idaho from Missoula, MT. Looking for great scenery and a fun drive that works the Ecoboost. The "fastest route" is not important.
So my questions are:
1) Is taking hwy 93 south out of Missoula a good option?
2) would you pick up hwy 12 and cut West or continue south on 93?
3) if you say on 93, better to jump onto 73 or keep to 93?
Thanks!

Idaho 93 south from Montana is awesome. The Salmon/Challis area is beautiful. You can then cut over on Hwy 20 through Craters of the Moon which you can then connect to Hwy 75 and take a short detour into Sun Valley if you want. If you want to get crazy from there, take 75 around to Stanley, ID (sawtooth range is amazing). Then take Hwy 21 through Idaho City into Boise.
I love the Salmon, Challis and Mackay areas. Stanley is easily one of the most scenic places in Idaho and the rest is cool too.
