Hey fellas. I just recently put new freeze plugs and exhaust manifolds on my 302 efi. Now that I've got it put back together, a battery drain has popped up. I tried the fuse pull trick to track it down, but it appears the drain is on a circuit that doesn't go through the fuse box. A fairly thorough visual inspection turns up no obvious shorts anywhere either. Granted there is a TON of wiring under the hood. I'm not sure how to proceed since none of the fuses affected the drain. Any tips for finding the problem?
You have fuse links on the solenoid batt side remove one at a time to see if one of them has a drain.
The other is remove the wires off the back of the ALT and test for drain.
BTW I think 1 of the fuse links is from the ALT. out put to charge the batt.

Thanks for the tip, Dave. It turned out not to be any of the fuse links off the solenoid or anything coming off the alternator. I should mention I did the 3g alt upgrade some years ago. Its a key off drain and its pulling about 11.8v.
