Ok- while my truck is at Terry's F100's for the body work, Bruce pointed out the weather checking on my 205/75/15's that just happen to be 20 years old! So it' time to find some new tires-hopefully taller tires that will help overcome the 3.9 rear end ratio. What's the tallest tires that you guys might be running that won't make me look like I'm driving a clown car (truck)? Thanks in advance!
I had two Bonus Built trucks and ran 225:75/R15s on both. Looked close to original and worked well for a cruiser. Also, 235:75s are a tad taller if that's what you are looking for.
I'm considering 205-70's on front and 235-75's on the rear. I had wider tires on the front a few years ago and with stock steering it was just too much effort to steer. Heck, even with 205/75's, it's still a chore to turn at slower speeds!

To make steering easier at slow speeds and when parking get bias ply.... less rubber on the road

Been there - done that. It seems to me the bias tires track way too much and quite frankly- don't last very long before they wear out. I ordered the tires online today and found the best prices on Amazon over Tire Rack and Discount Tire and even Ebay- even with paying tax through Amazon!
On my '49 F1 I'm running 275/60R15 (15x8.5 wheels) on the back of mine and I love them... the fronts are 225/60R15 (15x7 wheels).

How close is your tire to the box side Moe, once I have this truck of my reassembled I'll be needing to size up rims and tires, I like the width you have out back..
