C4 conversion

The Speedway C4 for flathead conversion will only fit '49 and up. What makes the '48 different that this kit won't work on it? Does anybody make a C4 conversion for the '48?

Thanks!

They've had that described that way forever, it causes a lot of confusion. Cars didn't get the 8BA until '49, that's why they say that.

Heaven forbid they mention that in their ad. Makes you wonder who runs the marketing department.

Thanks!

You can see the same info in more detail here: The Flat-o-Matic
I'd be inclined to go with Flat-O-Matic, I have heard very good things about their kits.

Can't say anything for their early stuff but Flat-O-Matic's Y Block stuff fit like it was made for it (and it was). OBTW Gene (owner) is good people.
