My grandson has a 2001 Ranger Edge. It came with a Mazda transmission. The trans. went out and was removed and repaired. We reinstalled it but we're unable to get the hydrolic clutch to disengage. The pedal is soft all the way to the floor. We've tried every method of bleeding the air out that we can think of or find out about including all the tips that I could find on this site. Nothing helps. It was about a month between the time the transmission was removed and reinstalled.
Does anyone have any ideas or advice?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Popspipe
Send me an email and I will scan the method Luk recommends and email it back to you. I have read this sheet to many and it has cured their problem. I will also try to have it posted on my website for future reference for all members.
Thanks Mr. Clutch, I would have taken you up on your offer but I got it fixed before I read it. The method that I used is as follows:
Put a boxed end wrench on the bleeder valve.
Slip a length of small clear hose on the bleeder valve.
Let the other end of the hose hang to the bottom of a clear container. I used a pint jar.
Fill reservoir to top and keep a fluid level in it throughout the procedure.
Open bleeder valve and drain until you stop getting air then close it.
The next steps will need to be repeated until all the air is out.
1.SLOWLY press the pedal to the floor.
2.Open bleeder valve and keep it open until fluid and air stops coming out.
3.Release pedal.
4.Wait 2 seconds and repeat 1 thru 4.
If you stop getting air out AND stop getting more pedal then let it sit awhile and bleed again.
I hope this helps someone out there. Thanks again Popspipe
