use a reese 5th wheel or get the Anderson.

Since you don't have either then get the Anderson. If I didn't already have the reese that is what I would do.

Here's link to all 3 versions of the Ultimate for a Gooseneck conversion:

Get the Reese Goosebox. It is approved by Lippert the company that makes your camper frame.

I ordered a shortbed so hesitant on the Reese Goosebox because it doesn't give the additional clearance needed. The Andersen Ultimate looks like the ticket, it is easy to take in & out, weighs 35lbs (aluminum version) and moves the trailer back for additional clearance from what I have read.

I like the design, it's less connections. Bolt it on to the trailer then just the one hitch point in the bed where as the Andersen hooks to the hitch and the hitch hooks to the ball in the bed. I'll do a little more research on it, thanks again.

Here is a good thread on the Reese Goose Box, complete with some pictures and Ford owners with short beds using it.

Thanks SuperDutyDJ. Info was helpful. Man just when you think you got it figured out a curve ball comes. I like the Goosebox even better than everything else I've seen after viewing all the info on it. I thought it was just an over-priced pin box conversion before reading about it. I could easily build a pin box that would convert mine to a gooseneck setup for less than $200 (actual Gooseneck Hitch is the only pricey piece-my manufacturing time is free the way I see it) BUT again I would be left with a SOLID connection with no give to reduce stress on my trailer and to help smooth out the ride. Reese Goose Box seems to address these concerns with their design. I believe I will order one in the next few days. My truck is only a week out right now if the ETA to dealership holds true. My only concern now is will it bolt to my trailer? I have a 4005 Weekend Warrior TH-not sure if it's compatible? Does anyone know? Thanks for everyone's help!

Also, is the 20k lb unit the highest rated one available? I tow my 40' TH with my Jeep hooked up behind it or sometimes even a smaller bumper pull flatbed trailer behind my 5th wheel.

They make 16k and 20k versions.

They will work with Lippert 1621, 1621HD and 1716 pins. Your's should have a number or sticker on it.

Looks like mine is the Lippert 1116--does this one work with the Reese Goosebox?
