Justincmw- Great looking additions to a great looking truck! I do have a pictures request... Can we get a further away picture of the truck with the AMP steps tucked under?
I'm interested in seeing how the AMP steps sit under the rocker panel, and how much can be seen when getting a full look at the length of the pick up.

yea they are nice. I had my 2012 for 4 years and when I put my bed cover I don't think I ever tied anything down in my bed after that so I would much rather have those swing cases. You do have the 2 tie downs under the case to that are closer down to the bed floor.
justin,
how was the install on the steps? plug and play? did they use any factory wiring?
i’m curious how the factory powered boards install and tie into the wiring.
it frustrates me that i can’t get the powered steps with the chrome package on the lariat

Its tedious and time consuming but not hard at all. Everything bolts on to existing studs and the wiring is just 2 wires off the harness that you splice into the obd2 module from the kit with 2 twist splice caps they give you. you then just plug into the obd2 port and its wired up. you also have to connect the ground to the chasis and power to the battery. I bought the optional obd2 pass through that gives you a second port so that you don't have to unplug you steps if you need to access the obd2 port for some reason. what takes the most time is the 2 led lights on both side, 4 total, that you wire up if you choose to do so. You have to manually splice those wires to the wiring kit and drill 4 holes in the rocker panel seam to pass the wires through with gromets. The instructions are pretty easy to follow ans shows you where everything goes.

ok thanks. sounds the same as the steps for gm.
those are easier than the ones i installed on my ram a few years ago. there was no plug and play option and i had to deal with god awful rivnuts.

If you didn't want to deal with the lights you could do it by yourslef in about 2 hours. If you have a friend help you and go over all the instructions before hand you could do it in a little over an hour without the lights.
