FordPass setup?

Anyone get this working on their 2017 yet? Biggest reason I want to set it up is to be able to remote start with my phone. Downloaded the app on my phone, input my truck's info, plugged it in to the USB with the truck running, followed all the instructions, etc.... Still don't have a "vehicle controls" tab on the phone app to access the remote start. Any insight?

I dont think the trucks can be started through the phone, there was a previous thread about it.

The 2017 Super Duty doesn't come with Sync Connect, which is required to use the FordPass to start the vehicle.

Sync Connect is supposed to be rolled out to the entire lineup eventually.. hopefully sooner than later..

That said, there is a Ford RemoteAccess device that I believe can be added now..

The necessary cellular equipment is not in the 2017 SD unfortunately. Maybe in job 2 (doubtful) or 2018 (likely). That said I already purchased RemoteAccess and my dealer will be installing before I take the truck home.

Well that's disappointing. I usually don't care to much about the tech gadgets, but this actually piqued my interest. I may end up getting the remote access device.

Although there have been no wholesale breaches of security the connection can be hacked. Just make sure to follow all the appropriate security protocols and even then read up on the product through third party reviews. It was discussed here somewhere a few months ago.

Correct.. but it's not there for the remoteaccess either, but you can buy it and add it as your doing.. heck, it may be the same module....

This is kind of irritating, my parents' cheap Escape has it, but my 3 times more expensive F350 don't!

My friends wife has an Escape but it won't haul his 14 ton gooseneck. He finds that irritating.

Anyway, welcome to the forums!

I think you need this. The screenshot doesn't show it, but go to Ford Accessories, select a 2017 Super Duty and it should pop up on the front page. Long story short, I believe you need to install a modem.

I have been trying to figure out the same thing. My dealer told me that it had a modem and had remote features. I could not get it to work when I picked it up and he said it took 24 hours to activate. Obviously it still hasn't activated..... because it doesn't have it.

But why does my Ford Pass know my fuel gauge and mileage? Is that from Bluetooth?

Pretty sure you are 100% correct. I think the brochure says $384. Plus $60 per year for the data plan.
